So, as we are now two days away from what could be one of the largest hurricanes to hit the East Coast, I wonder what else I can do to prepare my family and home for what's to come.

One thing that I did remember that was great advice from my friend Dee Ann Zimmer from The Toole Insurance Agency   was to take photos of every room in your house and of all of your belongings. Not a bad idea rather than trying to write every little thing down when time is not always on our side.

Also, think about what you may have on your basement floor even if you have NEVER had water in your basement that you might want to protect. Speaking from experience of having a flood of our own 5 years ago measuring 2 feet of water, get things up quite a bit. We also now have a sump pump that has a battery back up that will last up to 8 hours.

So, let's all stay safe, stay in touch, and try as best to prepare for quite a storm. Contact Photo
